CoolSculpting is a non-surgical solution for body contouring. It’s a non-invasive procedure that cools areas of the skin to an extremely low temperature. CoolSculpting technology allows the extreme temperatures to reach beneath the skin’s surface down to the fat cells and freeze them. This process causes the fat cells to die off allowing us to treat and elminate localized areas of fat on the stomach, love handles, legs and more!

Results will vary from client to client, but in general, CoolSculpting is an FDA-approved, proven treatment for visibly reducing unwanted fat in both men and women.
CoolSculpting services can be done all year round, but we love doing them in winter for several reasons.
First, CoolSculpting often requires multiple sessions spaced several weeks apart. By starting treatments during the winter, you’ll give your body time to respond to treatments so you’ll have visible results by the time summer rolls around again.
Two, once your body does respond to treatments, it can take several months before you actually see visible results. In addition to needing multiple treatments, you also need to wait for your body to process and eliminate the dead fat cells. This process can take up to 3 months to complete.
Finally, sometimes CoolSculpting can cause redness, swelling and slight bruising in and around the treatment area. These side effects, while minimal, are more easily concealed during the winter months when we’re wearing more clothing.

No, CoolSculpting is not intended for weight loss. It is best used to remove stubborn fat that you haven’t been able to eliminate through diet and exercise alone.
During the treatment you’ll feel a light vacuum pressure and an intense cold. After a few minutes the treatment area should become temporarily numb so don’t feel much. Every client has a different tolerance for discomfort, but most patients do not find the treatment painful.

Upneeq® is a new prescription strength eye drop that is FDA approved to treat blepharoptosis (also referred to as ptosis and/or low-lying lids). For years surgery was really the only option to treat low-lying lids. Now with daily drops of Upneeq® you can lift your upper eye lids, creating a more youthful appearance without the downtime or risk involved with surgery.

Yes! It is safe to use if you wear contacts.
Yes, you can use Upneeq® after lasik, but if you’re planning to get lasik you should consult with your eye doctor prior to starting this product.
Most clients see a noticeable improvement using this product. That said, if you have moderate to severe ptosis or excess skin on the upper eyelid, surgery may be the best option to get your desired result.
We’ll go over usage during your visit but in general most people do one drop per eye each morning.

When it comes to cosmetic injections, neurotoxins are a category of products that contain brand names like Botox®, Dysport® and Xeomin®. You may hear these brands affectionately referred to as “Tox Injectables” or “Toxins.” When injected, Toxins will suppress muscle contractions in and around the injection site, allowing you to enjoy smooth, wrinkle free skin just like you see on all the hottest celebrities.
Botox® is the most well-known neurotoxin as it has a lot of name recognition throughout the industry. But, don’t discount some of the others like Dysport®. Dysport® is an amazing product that can do wonders for those stubborn lines in between your eyebrows also known as frown lines.

Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers are another option when it comes to cosmetic injections. Filler’s job is to add or replace volume in targeted areas of the face. As we age and our collagen production declines, you may notice that your face starts to look saggy or deflated. A highly trained injector can use filler to help restore a youthful appearance. Filler is also great for adding volume to specific areas and is very commonly used for lip injections.

Can you use Toxins and filler together?
Yes! When you come in for a consult we’ll discuss your goals and determine whether we need a Toxin, filler or both to get you there.
How are cosmetic injections priced?
Toxins are generally priced by unit or area and filler is generally priced by syringe. Some injectors have minimums. At SkinSpaMED, we have a 20 unit minimum. Again, when you come in for a treatment your injector will tell you how much product is needed to accomplish what you’re looking for and give you a price from there.
Will I see same day results with Toxins and fillers?
It depends on the product we use. With Botox®, it can take up 2 weeks before you see the full results. With some of the newer product lines, clients see results in as little as 3 days. With filler, some results are visible immediately while others take a few days to appear.
What if I don’t like my results?
Getting cosmetic injections for the first time, whether it’s a Toxin or filler, can be intimidating. Many clients worry that they won’t like their look post-treatment. If you go to an expert injector like ours, who takes the time to fully understand what you’re looking for, you will probably be very happy with your decision to get cosmetic injections. If you go to someone who isn’t experienced, you risk not getting the result you hoped for so when it comes to injections, always shop by reviews and experience, never price. If you do your homework and still end up unhappy you have two options, one let your body naturally eliminate the injections over time, or two, talk with your injector about products like Hylenex® that can expedite the dissolving process.
